So one of my first graders has been calling me mommy for 2 weeks. First she did it on accident, then she started joking about it, then she actually said, “Mommy, I mean Miss Chavez.” I kept correcting her, but she just kept doing it and I got tired of telling her to stop.

Today I told the whole class its going to be my last week in first grade. I looked over at her and her face grew red with a blank stare. I asked her what was wrong and she said, “My mommy’s leaving.”

I guess this is why I have my tumblr…

facebook is annoying. I only reactivated it to communicate with the other student teachers at my school. You don’t have to post every single thought that runs through your mind.. or the personal crap you’re going through.. or whatever else. Seriously…

Saturday Night

and I’m home doing homework and getting all my stuff ready for my first formative evaluation meeting! I guess its not that bad… I was out almost all day. -____-

There is no time for anything. I just want to lay in bed and not worry about the to do list I have in the back of my head.

What happens with my life now??

Just kidding.

I won’t say what happens in the finale because I think everyone should watch THE WHOLE SERIES OF DEX! :)

  • Girl: Hey, so what do you recommend? I'm kind of thirsty.
  • Worker: Oh you should try the pumpkin spice.
  • Girl: Well, I'm kind of a green tea type of person...
  • Me: Then why ask for a recommendation?!?!?!? IDIOT.
"People think dreams aren’t real just because they aren’t made of matter, of particles. Dreams are real. But they are made of viewpoints, of images, of memories and puns and lost hopes."
Neil Gaiman

I wouldn’t say that I live in a bubble not aware of the different lives people choose to lead. It’s just interesting to get to know people whose priorities are different than mine.

I’m dealing with more than I can handle. I don’t know if it’s just cause school barely started and I’m not used it… or if I really can’t handle it.

Tomorrow is Friday and will be my first week of student teaching. Let’s be real though— I’m just observing right now. First grade is tough. They are learning how to read and do math and it’s really just the foundation of everything. Just looking over the teacher’s lesson book is overwhelming. Hearing her talk about it just knocks me over!

Here’s my schedule

Monday-Thurs: Student teaching 7:30-12.
Tues: Language arts methods 4-6:45
Wed: Math methods 4-6:45
Mon/Thurs: Kumon 2-8
Friday: All day Student Teaching

I really don’t want to have a job and work right now, but I have to. I’m exhausted and feeling burnt out and the school year just started! Maybe it’s the heat… I hope it’s just the heat.

The worst part…

of getting my wisdom teeth pulled out is not being able to laugh… or smile.
